My internet connection for Ooma is not in a convenient location to use the voice mail feature of Ooma. I have an answering machine on my existing home network that I want to use for voice mail/messages. How do I turn off the answering/voice mail feature of Ooma and let my current machine take/record messages.
I have the same issue. Ooma is in the basement. However, my answering machine answers on 4 rings. I have Ooma set to answer on 5 rings. This way if I am on the phone, Ooma now answers and takes the message. Then my phone blinks and I just check my messages from my phone to Ooma. Never have to go to the basement for anything. Works fine.
